DIY or “Insourcing” of market research projects will increase. Market research agencies simply don’t have all the advantages they used to (access to superior sample sources, access to superior tools)—and clients seeking to have greater direct control of critical market research insights will start to manage more projects in-house.

Unfortunately....
Yes, it's true that access to quality "tools of the trade" has never been easier. But...I think that the notion that disintermediation automatically follows is not entirely correct. This idea falls down because the tools require people who know how to use them.
Many client-side organizations have spent the better part of the last 2 years eliminating market research talent, so a dramatic increase would require an equally dramatic hiring binge. I'm not holding my breath for that to happen.
Stands to be a good year for researchers
